Q: Will my shed require a base?

When we say a 'base', we mean a surface that is: Flat (check with a spirit level) Solid (bricks, slabs, concrete, or a base kit. NOT soil, grass or loose gravel) With drainage (it doesn't have to be raised, but rainwater has to be able to leave the area.) So yes, all sheds require a base. It is important that a shed stands in a location where it will be able to easily remain upright without undue stress on the structure, and where it won't be absorbing water. Our wooden sheds all come with pressure treated floor bearers which raise the floor slightly above the ground, so you can place yours straight onto a level patio or reinforced decking without issue. If your designated shed location is currently soft, you could level this out and use our Ecobase product to save you the work of landscaping.

Ideal for adding storage in tight places, or just adding a shed to a garden with very little space, a 6’x4’ shed is an ideal small storage unit. These models are aptly sized to fit down alleyways and in tight corners, while still offering enough room inside to keep tools, planting equipment or rakes and spades. They can also provide apt storage for small pieces of garden furniture or cushions.

Do you have a shed showroom?

Since 2020, we no longer have a physical showroom and all trade is conducted online. Our website shows previews of every size of building with precise measurements to make it easy for you to make an informed buying decision.

When you visit a product page, changing between sizes will immediately show you what the exact size looks like.

Do you offer delivery and installation?

We don’t currently offer a shed installation service. Our garden sheds are supplied for self-assembly and include full fitting instructions.

Do sheds require planning permission?

Usually, no. Most UK properties are allowed sheds as 'permitted developments' with no planning permission required, provided they are not placed in a front garden or exceed height limits.
