All of our sheds are patio-friendly, perfect for placement on concrete, brick, or slabbed patio areas. As long as your patio is large enough for your chosen size of shed (we have some very large ones), you should be fine to commence with building.
Please bear in mind that if your patio is not completely level, an extra base may be required to give the shed a flat surface to stand on.

FAQs
A shed measuring 6 by 3 feet doesn't give you a huge amount of space, especially if it's one that doesn't come above chest height. You can expect to fit some of these items (but not all at once):
- 1-2 adult bikes and helmets
- One push lawnmower (depending on door opening width) or a wheelbarrow
- Children's toys
- Garden tools such as shovels, rakes, buckets, and hose pipe
Even though a shed this small could have more in common with a box than a building, in the eyes of the law, it's most likely to be considered a development than a chattel (like furniture). This is because they are not easily portable in one piece, even if you didn't anchor them to the ground. As a property development, planning laws are applicable, but you probably won't need planning permission.
Most properties in the UK have permitted development rights, which means you wouldn't need planning permission for a shed this small, as long as it meets these conditions:
- It's not in the front garden (in front of the principal elevation of the property
- Total buildings don't cover more than 50% of the original outdoor space (you are unlikely to exceed this with a 3x6 shed).
- It doesn't exceed the height limits. (Some of these sheds only reach chest height.)

When is a 6 x 3 Shed the Right Choice?
A small shed of this size is right for people with not much to store or only a small amount of space available. If you only need a place to keep tools, rakes, spades or plant pots, a small storage space like these 6x3 sheds can work well and only have a small footprint. They’re especially ideal for fitting down alleyways.
It’s not the right choice if you need to keep lots of items safe. If you’ve only got a few bulky items, such as a bike or lawnmower, these can be accommodated - but they’ll limit the way you can use the shed when doing so and may make it hard to access the rest of the shed.
