It’s a good idea to line the inside of your wooden planter to keep the compost moist. This also reduces the frequency with which you need to water your plants, as the water is retained.
Many materials can be used as liners. Recycle old plastic bags, newspapers, and compost bags to use. So long as water can drain out (you might need to create small holes), any of these options can work!

Care-wise, we recommend that you line your planter to provide a protective barrier between the wood and soil. Be sure to create holes in the lining so that the water can drain through the lining and out through the allotted drainage hole.
