So, if you haven't opted for a pressure-treated shed (which comes with a 15-year anti-rot guarantee) you timber will come with golden spray treatment. This will protect the wood throughout transport, but we advise applying wood preserver before installation and then annually.

Make sure you're applying to planed smooth timber (like the panels we use in our BillyOh wooden sheds) and, using a clean cloth, wipe down the entire surface. Make sure you have a 24-hour window without wet or humid conditions in which to apply the wood preserver.
Apply a base coat using a natural bristle brush onto each piece of wood. Wipe off any excess stain with a cloth and leave to dry. Re-paint 2-3 coats for effective protection. Or check out our wood stain application guide below.
