Last modified: June 26, 2017
Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces, hosted by George Clark, has launched it’s annual Shed of the Year competition, and it’s now open for entries! If you’ve eagerly watched the show and considered showing off your own awesome shed. Why not enter into Shed of the Year 2017?
It’s free to enter and all you need to do is submit two photos of your shed along with a few details about it. You’ll then be entered into the competition and could win £1,000 and of course, the prestigious title!
There’s a number of different categories you can enter your shed into;
- Eco shed
- Pub & Entertainment
- Workshop/ Studio
- Any sheds without images after the closing date 15th May 2017 will not be eligible for the entry.
- Only residents in the UK (and Ireland) are eligible to win the Shed of the Year title & prizes. For those sheddies outside the UK, the title of “International Shed of the Year” is up for grabs.
- A panel of judges will select an initial shortlist of sheds. After this, a public vote will be held on the website to find the category winners. A final judging panel will then select the overall winner of Shed of the Year 2017.
- If you have already added your shed previously to the site – it will be automatically rolled over and entered into this year’s competition.
Last year’s winner
If you are looking for a bit of inspiration when it comes to your shed, look no further than last year’s winning shed. Built at the bottom of a Berkshire Garden, West Wing features a complete loft area, hidden library and a roof made of grass. The shed was also made from 90% recycled material! Shed owner, Kevin, triumphed against over 3,000 entrants with West Wing.
