What is the timber? Is it cedar?

What ground base do I need for this structure? I have a flat concreted area I want to use but it falls short of 8x6. Do you do this Billyoh in 7x5? Or would I need to lay extra concrete? I'm wondering if concrete blocks laid in earth down one side would work as this would make up the required floor space?
